My only "baby" graduated from Infant school today, I could just about cry every time I pass his little school bag hanging on the door knob where it's hung for the past three years, I can hardly believe my little boy is seven and going to juniors in September, he seems so young still, and yet he's off to play with the big kids soon.
Anyone else doing this this week or next week?
Wade in to my misery with me, lol, how on Earth did they get so big? I still remember holding his tiny self on my shoulder like it was yesterday, now he's 4ft 8 and wearing an age 9-10. All his little friends signed his shirt, it's hanging in his room, I could bust out crying every time I think about it.

Have you thought about going to your school counselor and the other schools in your area? A lot of the kids at my school, (I am a school teacher) get jobs by talking to the counselor. Our counselors get lots of calls for things like babysitting and tutoring. You can also go door to door and talk personally giving the moms a little "resume" about you and maybe even some numbers of some who you have done some babysiting for. You could start off as a mother's helper so that you can play with the children when their mom is home so that she can see that you can do a good job. If you have friends that already babysit, ask if they would introduce you to some of the people that they babysit for and maybe you could babysit with your friend so that the parents could get to know you and the kids can warm up to you. When the kids are happy, the parents will call you back! You can make a babysitting bag with all types of games, make-up, books etc and show the moms what tupes of things that you would like to do with their kids other than watching TV or playing video games. It may take a while to get established as a "professional babysitter". I actually loved the younger babysitters because they still liked or at least didn't mind playing with my children and they were not so prone to be sitting on the phone with a boyfriend the entire time. I Think you are definately old enough, you just have to prove yourself as being responsible. Good luck!
