Need backpack advice/help!?!?!?!?

soccerstar

Okay I need advice about backpacks...Everyone at my school uses totes (which is what i'm using right now) and only the boys and geeky girls have backpacks. I have this backpack from elementary school and I was wondering if i would be okay to use at school...

This is the type of backpack...

This is the pattern...

What do you think?? Thanks for your answers in advance!! :)

Answer
i think it would be fine. i had a totebag cause it was "cool" but all my stuff was always sticking out and there was no room half the time. so i went back to my plain black jansport

if anything, just get a plain black or plain navy blue jansport. in my school any "cool kids" that have a backpack use one of those

Ruger .454 Casull for backpacking?

Chris G

Can anyone recommend the Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan .454 Casull revolver with 2.5" barrel?

--I will be staying with my family in a nice big cabin in Alaska for most of 2009, and I wanted a good, durable, and very powerful revolver for conceal carry. I already own a shotgun, which I am also taking with me, but I wanted something that I can COMFORTABLY carry with me while hiking on trails with my wife. I was told by my uncle that this specific revolver, despite the harsh recoil, would be best, but I wondered what your opinions of it are?
Here is a link with a picture of the gun:
http://www.impactguns.com/store/media/ruger_sup_redhawk_alaskan.jpg

Answer
I recently examined just this revolver. Seems someone bought it, fired it once and traded for something else. The guy at the gun shop even told me he'd throw in a box of ammo with only one shell missing. I thought he was kidding until I opened the cylinder and noticed only one slot of six smoked-up. Guess he fired it once and decided he wanted something less intense!

I was impressed with the revolver itself. It feels sturdy, solid and well-made (like other Ruger products). You know that this revolver will also shoot the .45 LC? That would be better for anything but more serious threats like big bear. I hear this model is also chambered for .480 Ruger and even though the .480 is bigger than the .454 Casull for some reason I can't really understand the reviews say it is more manageable to shoot than the .454 Casull???

Consider also the Taurus Raging Bull in .454 Casull with at least a 6" barrel. Although its only a five-shot it is heavier and has a longer compensated barrel and better grips for managing the intense recoil.

I'll be staying in a cabin in South Texas the rest of this year (while our retirement home is being built). I'll take my Glock Model 20 10mm and a .357 Magnum with me. This besides my hunting rifles and shotgun because deer and bird seasons are right around the corner.

Happy hunting.

Can you download Kindle for PC onto a netbook that has Windows CE? I don't think you can, but curious?

Advice Ple

I'm curious if it's possible. I'd like to be able to find my kids text books in ebook form so that they don't have to bring their books home all the time. I can't barely lift my daughters backpack.

Answer
I'm sorry. You can see "Which operating systems are compatible with Kindle for PC?" in the official page here, and you'll know the Kindle for PC doesn't support Windows CE:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fgp%2Fhelp%2Fcustomer%2Fdisplay.html%3Fie%3DUTF8%26nodeId%3D200395750&tag=moreinfo-po-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=390957

I'm not sure if you'll consider to get the Kindle device instead. It is more handy, and reading on the screen of Kindle is much better compared to reading on computer or notebook screen. I own the Kindle 2 and love it very much. I remember I read these reviews when I decided to get it:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Freview%2FR2DUM7S4XW06QN%3Fie%3DUTF8%26ASIN%3DB00154JDAI%26nodeID%3D%26ref%255F%3Dcm%255Fcr%255Fpr%255Fcmt&tag=moreinfo-po-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=390957

Hope it helps :)

What is the average price of camping gear?

slee_fairy

Answer
Free. Your first time should always be free, especially for kids. In other words, you should go with an experienced camper(s) or a camping organization who will let you borrow their gear, since almost all campers have extra gear, the very thing you're trying to avoid by first borrowing.

After a couple of "free" camping trips under your belt you'll start to get an idea of what kind of gear you might want to purchase, and start to research materials, quality, prices, and reviews to determine the right choice for you, your camping style, level of comfort, camping plans, and budget. Reading books about camping and backpacking at your local library is a good start along with popular camping websites.

A mistake some people make is to try to buy the biggest and most expensive gear, which is usually overkill. Similarly, don't expect Wal-Mart gear to get you through more than a weekend or two. Somewhere in the middle is where I aim, in size, quality, weight and price.

I'm going into 8th grade. Should i get a deluxe, super deluxe, or what? Which is the best made and which looks better? How much more can one hold than the other? What is the difference?

Answer
The super deluxe book pack print. Get the green and blue plaid one. It is cute and durable. I have read many reviews on it, it seems to be able to hold a lot.

Here are the details the website lists.

"Built like a tank" is just one of the hundreds of positive comments we've received about this pack over the years. In fact, if our customers could give it a six-star rating, they would. They tell us the back panel keeps books from digging in and that there are "plenty of places for all the things kids use these days," like iPods® and cell phones. Two binder-size compartments and an organizer panel help you keep your coursework separated.

Shoulder strap now has a pouch for your phone or MP3. Audio cord port lets you easily use your MP3 from inside the bag. Padded back panel, ergonomic shoulder straps and waistbelt. Weatherproof mini-ripstop nylon and reinforced base. 3M⢠Scotchlite⢠Reflective Material piping. Imported.

Capacity 2,250 cu. in.

Weight 1 lb. 10 oz.

Dimensions 17"H x 13"W x 9½"D.

This proves this backpack to be the best choice for you. Have a great 8th grade year! When I was in Eighth Grade I used this one and it worked great. I am a senioor in highschool now and I still have it. Give it a look.

What is the best double stroller out there?

mama2lmjb

What is the best double stroller out of these options::::

Phil & Teds
Baby Jogger City Select Double
Kolcraft Contours
Graco DuoGlider

Any reviews?

Answer
Most definitely the Baby Jogger City Select! I have one myself and I love it for several reasons

1. Can be used as double, or single when one gets too big for it (and then back again if you have another!
2. the option of the bassinet casing for a seat, which later converts back, also love the carseat adapters... very easy to use and remove.
3. Super easy to fold up, and fold FLAT. All in one simple motion
4. Lots of storage options. The storage area underneath expands, and the handlebars have lots of accessory options, including full size backpacks. And, they don't tip even when you have a lot of weight on the handle bars.
5. Very maneuverable. I live in Boston with legendarily uneven sidewalks. I can get around just fine, and without too much bouncing.
6. Accessories: a self leveling drink holder (you have no idea how great that is on hilly roads). Storage cover- compact enough to use as carry-on on international flights. Belly bar- instead of food tray (also available) the belly bar gives something for kids to grab onto and allows them to lean out more. This was perfect for the zoo and watching the duckies go by.
7. Adorable! It does not look like any other stroller out there, yet has a nearly old world charm in the dark colors (I got black). I get questions all the time on it.
8. great if you baby wear- I wore my infant in a wrap while pushing my twins in the stroller. The handlebar was just the right height for me not to struggle.

Downsides? Can be costly to get new accessories, not the best 'jogger' but will do ok, not usually on sale.

I need a Homework Planner or Organizer for a Student?

I just started tutoring a 5th grader who I find out is very bright, but also has a problem 'remembering' to turn assigments in. As a result his grades a poor. I believe he is also ADHD, but do not know the extent (yet). Is there a 'canned' program to help me teach him how to organize what is due the next day? or week? or month?

What I am suspecting is that his parents do not take the time to review weekly or daily even what is due and as a result, they expect the tutor to teach him responsibility!

Answer
this is very simple because of the fact that there are a lot of kids out there that have the same problem about "forgeting" to turn their assignments in.............all you have to do is get this student some sort of planner with each day in it...... then write out the assignments for each day in his planner and tell the student to check off his assignments each morning as he is putting them into his backpack or binder.... and it is also a good idea to give the student a reward for doing a good job with this because it is going to take some time to adjust.... but DO NOT bribe this child.................
good luck:)

HOW do highschool trends start?

Josh

Sperry's, kid backpacks, casual khakhis, moccasins. how do these trends start? do people just watch them on a tv show, or see them in a magazine?

Answer
Sometimes it is from a TV show, sometimes it is from music. Sometimes it is from word of mouth. The Harry Potter series of books originally got bad reviews from book reviews, but kids liked the books and told other kids, and that is what put J. K. Rowling on the map. Sometimes they see something on vacation, and they start doing that also and it just picks up. Sometimes they are trying to copy cat a person, like how Mary Kate and Ashley sold so much stuff. They were the original ones to market to tweens.
