Hi... ok I've been wanting to but a LV Bosphore Backpack and I am a guy (100% not gay) I just wanted to know if it would make me look too feminine. I still go to school and I dont want kids to think im gay for buying a LV backpack. also can anyone tell me where I can buy one that is not too expensive (i do not care if it is fake) i just want this backpack for a cheap price.

hm, no offense but i dont like it so much. however, they probably sell it on ebay or amazon for cheap price [but might be fake]. they might have it at LV outlets too for lower prices. however, i dont suggest you use it- it does look very feminine, especially if you're afraid that ppl. will think you're gay. if i were you, i would stick with jansport backpacks(most ppl. use those) sorry, just my opinion.

I've had terrible trouble with bookbags. My past three have all gotten holds in them. The first one was from target. The lining in between the pockets ripped out. The second was an Eastsport from Wal*mart. The plastic-y stuff that lines the inside chipped off and a hole was made. My third and most surprising was an Adidas duffle bag. Not a full size, just one main pocket. It got holes around the bottom edge. Which one of these two bags do you think will withstand a FEW years instead of just one or two?

Buy cheap and get low-grade stuff like those two bags.
Then complain in a year the base fell out...
School books are heavy and they've got corners and edges that wear through materiels more than backpacking stuff does.
Unless you go backpacking with a bunch of school books.
School bags get a lot of use...
They get more use in a year than most bags on backpacking trips get in a year.
What's the deal?...a thirty-dollar bag that lasts one year or a fifty-dollar bag that lasts three years.
So which is the best bargain?
My Karrimor cost $70 and is twelve years old. Not a hole worn in it anywhere after using it on more than twenty big trips hiking and touring and almost daily use for shopping and local photo trips with heavy equipment (big heavy wildlife lenses and heavy tripods) and it's still waterproof...the Alps, the Andes,Machu Pichu, Atacama Desert, Mozambique jungles, Malaysian rain-forest (Lived East for a while), all over Europe.
Cost so far....less than $6 a year.
I won't be replacing it for many years yet.
Good savings for more trips......12 thirty-dollar bags would have cost $360.
No kidding....

Which backpack will last longer?

What does a kid need in his backpack for headstart?

My son is 3 and wants to take a backpack to school this year when he starts headstart. What should I put in it, because it isn't actually required to bring one? Any ideas?

Put a Composition notebook and some crayons. Composition notebooks are pretty cheap and it could make him feel like a big kid going to school with a little notebook to write in. Also the crayons are always fun for kids, I still love them and I'm in high school :D ! Packing a toy would be nice too. Just not his #1 Favorite. If other kids take his favorite or it breaks it would be the end of his world.

How to transition back to a prep or just normal looking girl?

Ok. So. In intermediate school through Middle school I went through some phases known as emo and scene and currently im a freshman in highschool and some of my peers still see me that way and I really dont want to remembered like that so how do I tone it down for now until I have a good budget to go shopping for a new look and where are some cute places to buy clothes and normal teen stuff? Btw my hair is growing out from a pixie so its kind of a bob / shag so there isnt much I can do with it . And its red but im working on getting it strawberry blonde my natural hair color is dark sable brown and I have dark brown eyes. If that helps.. Sorry it was so long. Thanks! Please help.

It must be hard adjusting with the change in personality, but you will get through it...its a part of life!!!

First, tone everything down, generally. I have never met a "emo" or a "scene" kid before, and I don't like stereotypes AT ALL, but from the little knowledge I have......

Make up should not be defined as tons of black makeup smeared all over the eyes. Again, I dont know if you do this, but this is (unfortunately,) stereotypical, and I personally feel that it might be a little much for school. Light, fresh eye make up is desirable.

The clothes: Dark colors, with rainbow, almost child-like accessories. (Again, this is what I know from YouTube and gossip, so please excuse me, I don't like this type of thing at all.) Try adding colors into your wardrobe, and get classier jewelry, even from cheap places like Khols, Old Navy, or Forever 21. Keep it toned down, yet classy. You can always make a statement through red pants, or a big pair of earrings. I think you should do a deep conditioning treatment, to get your bleached hair healthy and shiny again, and go back to a rich, mocha brown, with natural looking blond highlights in it. Make your hair healthy, grow out your nails, and paint them pretty, spring colors. (Mint, Emerald, pastel purple, etc.)

Hello Kitty backpacks, though I find them cute, can be viewed by others as childish, or try-hard even. Mainstream articles, such as a transport backpack, and a normal iPhone case (A Pikachu one would be considered 'scene') would help with this "transition."

music should not be all Heavy Metal and Screamo. Turn up the radio and sing along to a Katy Perry song!

And at the end of all this, I must say two things. One, I am basing this whole thing, from videos I have seen on YouTube. I don't really know what you do, or what you dress or look like. This is all based on stereotypes and I am really sorry about it, but I def wanna help a girlfriend who seeks help!

And you should also know that 'normal' is all relative.....If there was such thing as normal, this world would be very boring. I respect your decision to go 'punk/scene,' but I also do understand why you would like to 'tone things down' a bit. As you are in high school, grades are becoming A LOT more important than looks, so you don't want to do something that will make you self conscious. Be confident with who you are, and what you have got. If you have that and a smile, it will never matter what you look like!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How much would it cost for my friends and I to travel around Europe?

My friends and I thought if would be fun and a great experience to travel Europe after we graduate high school. There are about 10 of us and we will graduate in 4 years(not including the end of this school year). I was just wondering about how much we should save, if we decide to go.

The most fun way to travel around Europe is by train. Get a Europass good for however long you are going to be there. It saves time and money. You can buy them here before you leave - in fact you can't buy them in Europe. This is cheaper than any other way. There are great youth hostels - Europe is where these were invented, I think. They are far better than anything in North America. My kids and I did it that way a few years ago - and with our backpacks. It was the best trip I have ever taken. You have to plan your trip before you go. Plan on the cities you are going to visit and know where the youth hostels are in those cities before you leave. Stay in places where the price of the room includes all you can eat breakfast. Most hostels do it that way. If you buy your Europass, stay in youth hostels, use the bus/tram or subway systems(the Metro in Paris, for example is great), eat a big free breakfast, do your sightseeing and buy bread, fruit, cheese, wine then pig out in your hotel after you have finished your day. So, you don't spend much money eating in restaurants. We had a 3 week Europass, travelled from England on the hydrofoil across the English Channel to Calais and took the train into Paris and went from there. We hit 9 cities, including Florence, Amsterdam, Brussels, Saltsburg, etc. It cost me about $4000.00 for the three of us. Not including the air fare to fly my kids to London. So, if you have 4 years to save, get on it. It is the trip of a lifetime. And you will never forget it. It may be a little more expensive now. But, you can do it. Wanna go skiing in the Alps, take the cog railway up the mountain in Insbruck - glorious. Good luck.

What are some tips and tricks to save money on back to school shopping?

--backpack
--Arm warmers
--Claire's Jewelery ( priced 8-10$)
--Notebooks
--pens, pencils, folders
--clothing (not a whole lot of clothes, 2-3 at most)

Right now if you watch the CVS, Walgreens, Target, Staples and Right Aid weekly specials, you will see some FREE, yes FREE, school supplies and very cheap ones.
CVS offers a few free school supplies every Sunday and Monday, so you have to go early to get them. Walgreens had free pens last week, this week it is shampoo and toothbrushes free (but you still need those for school). Walgreens has papermate highlighters right now for .29 a pack and nice 1" binders for .99 each. Lots of other school supplies under $1.00 each. CVS has on sunday and Monday this week - 2 free stretch book covers, rulers, glue and 1 subject notebooks. Also lots of specials on other stuff.

Target and Staples will run penny and quarter sales along with deeply discounted items.

I would suggest getting any items that are cheap or free that you KNOW you will use. Later in the school year if you run out you will not be able to find these kind of prices. Stock up now on that stuff then once you have your list from classes you can add on what you need then.

On Claires - ALWAYS shop the back of the store. They have the clearance stuff there and the redline sales are great. Take a friend so if it is 15 items for $10.00 you can split the cost and the loot. Also you can share earrings that come in a bunch on a card.

Back pack - again watch all the stores I mentioned for school supplies. CVS had a special that you got $5 back on any backpack purchase. They will have lots of promotions this time of year.

Clothes - do you do resale shops? We do the goodwill and salvation army ones. They have some nice stuff - always wash first. Look for upper scale/designer resale shops. We also do the mall and look for specials. Again take a friend and split the specials. We just got sneakers for $15 off by sharing the buy with a friend - if you spent 100 you got back 30 on the sale.

Our plan is usually to go and get basic items (solid color tops and bottoms) and then add in some prints and novelty shirts, jackets, jewelry etc as we go. I give each kid a set limit of what they can spend and they stay in the limits or spend their own money.

Ours has a fuel perks where if you buy gift cards for certain stores you get money off your gas. we bought a camera and an ipod touch at best buy - bought certificates and got two free tanks of gas. Makes mom much more conducive to going shopping if you get her free gas....

My son's backpack weighs 30 lbs. There is nothing I can do to lighten it up. He does not have a locker so he has to tote all his books around all the time. The backpack we bought 2 weeks ago is already ripping at the seams and the straps are ripping off.

The only backpack that stood up to all the weight was:
JANSPORT
