What to put in Halloween treat bags?

Im an aide on a Special Needs bus and I plan on doing treat bags for the kids. The driver chooses not to do it, ut I want to do something special for the kids. Age range is from preschool to high school. I don't want to do more for the little ones and leave the highschoolers feeling like they got something corny. I also don't want to drop a fortune. What could I buy that's for all ages other than candy?

thw classics are penciles, errasers, stickers, temp tattoos, etc. older kids will like it better if you put some full size candy bars in their bags. i know when i was a teen my favorite houses were the ones that have out full size loot, and it will set their bags apart from the "little kid" stuff.

Would this be a good halloween fundraiser for the junior class in high school?

Okay so we have a pretty small school, 75 people in the biggest class, and not too many teachers that it would be too much - what if, on halloween, when everybodys dressed in their costumes we did a classroom trick or treat thing where people paid $1.00 for a bag or something and then went to classrooms to get candy but they could only get candy with the bag we sold them? Would it get us alotta money? The bags wont cost too much if we get them at the dollar store but the thing is the candy- that might cost alot especially if everyone buys bags, unless some teachers buy their own candy. What do you think?

Yes that's good and not too expensive if so you can do a smaller 50 cent bag and call it halloween lotto as they don't know what candy they can get:)
(better not have peanuts in any bag and check with teachers for kids with allergies for safety reasons, Good Luck)

Does anyone else think that kids lives are getting more boring?

Where I live children got out for summer break at the end of June and they are going back to school at the beginning of August. Its part of this new "balanced school year". Halloween has become a terribly boring holiday for children. When I was a teenager I STILL was able to enjoy the festivities but with new trick or treating laws and school regulations for parties and costumes, the novelty just isn't there anymore. A lot of schools no longer have recess and a good amount of them are also dropping arts and music.

What do you think?

I think we don't have television in my home. My child reads books at an amazing rate, and plays with Lego for hours. She never liked colouring in colouring books, preferring instead to draw her own pictures. She loves to go for walks, and go to feed the ducks. Yesterday we bought some supplies for scrapbooking. Also, we take in as many festivals, and local events as we can throughout the year. For holidays, we go see a scary movie on the big screen at Halloween, and trick or treat if she feels like it, we make gift bags for friends on Christmas, she makes her own cards for her teachers. She recently learned to sew, and made me a rag doll that looks like her to take to work.

Life is what you make of it, my friend.

What are you giving to the Treat or Treaters this year?

My own gift to the costumed kids is baseball trading cards.

im in college and they are having kids from the community come trick or treating around the dorms, i love halloween and found this store near my school that has a ton of cheap little knickknacks, so i got paper pumpkin gifts bags and each one will have a rubber bat (theyre small, like 6 inches wide), a whistle that has a wheel at the end so when you blow in it instead of making noise the wheel spins (so it wont drive the parents nuts, a little pumpkin eraser, a mini gummy body part, and a mini candy bar. best part is i got enough to make 40 treat bags for $7 total.
