Teens: What sort of school bag do you own?

Q. Also, how big is it? I've never got how kids can carry their textbooks, folders, binders, etc. in small bags. They must do their homework in school since you need those books for homework.

I currently don't own a schoolbag but I would love a Sonic one. I saw this really nice retro one online but like all retro things I'll never get it..

Answer
I have a Jansport backpack with zebra print. It has enough room for binders and notebooks etc, although I don't carry much. My school has a set of textbooks for home and one at school so space isn't really a concern.

is a jansport backpack to small for high school?

Q. So im gonna b a freshman and i was wondering if a jansport backpack was too small of a backpack. Just the normal 2 pocket one.

Answer
No, I've used jansport backpacks since Freshman year and it was very comfortable and fresh.
That size of a backpack is what you want to stick with because big backpacks will not look
good. 2" Binders and lots of papers can fit in there. Even workbooks. You will have to carry
your textbooks but trust me its better than looking like a geeky kid with a huge bag.
You can even switch things around and put a textbook in your bad and hold your binder and you'll be fine. I'm doing very well without a locker. I don't even need one.
(My school took them out because of drug problems in the 80's lol.)

Do college kids still carry backpacks?

TheMilitan

I guess this question makes me an old.

My neice is off to college at the end of August, and I thought I would buy her a nice backpack for her August b-day. I thought a backpack was a neccsity for a college student, but then I started thinking maybe backpacks are more of a trend. So, my question to you youngs out there: Do college kids still carry backpacks? Is there a brand that is more "in" than others? Are the LL Bean monogramed ones (which are really good quality, and I think cute) considered dorky?

Answer
I would say that the breakdown of carrying stuff is...

45% backpacks
25% messangers
10% gym bags (adidas, etc)
10% shoulder bags (gym bags, but the 80s style)
10% other (purses, etc)
(This is a rough estimate based on my school)

Backpacks are better for the back than messangers, and when she's carrying a laptop and books home from the library, she'll thank you. Make sure it has a laptop pocket, if she is getting a laptop for school. The LL Bean ones are really cute, I love them. Otherwise, Jansport is popular, as is Northface and Roots (in Canada).

You could fill it with all sorts of cool, fun gadgets for back to school, etc (depending on how much you want to spend on her)

Going to 7th grade. Questions about bags and packpacks and stuff hehe.?

Hey im going to 7th grade (middle school) I was wondering if we still use backpacks or if we carry totes or if we wear messenger bags? Could someone tell me the answers to those questions and i was wondering what would be better to get a messenger sort of bag cheap from abercrombie kids or hollister? I mean a bag like this one.

Answer
USE A BACKPACK!
trust me, a messenger or tote may look "cute" or whatever, but youll regret it.
you need a good backpack to be able to carry all of you books, and messengers are bad for your shoulders.

and that kind of messenger bag will prob. like break after a couple of months anyway. abercrombie and hollister crap is cheaply made and highly priced.

like someone above me said, there are plenty of cute backpacks out there. like roxy. also, jansport has a lot of cute designs and patterns!

Should I get a Jansport Superbreak or Big Student backpack?

Daniela

I'm going into my senior year of high school and really need a new backpack. For the last few years I've used a backpack with two main pockets to fit all of my binders and other supplies, but I don't like my backpack to be bulky and hunch me over. I usually need room for a few binders, pencil bag, graphing calculator, and agenda. I'm leaning more toward the Superbreak because of the price, but the Big Student backpack might be better for the size.. which would you suggest?

Answer
I thought about getting a superbreak and then I tried it on and its super small, like its made for a kid. So I would go with the big student.
