Shoulder bags for school, bad for you?

I want to use my backpack for school. It's not the typical straps on both shoulders but the type where you put the strap over only one of your shoulders. Here's a pic similar to it:

Im into working out, i work out 6 days a week so that's why i'm sorta worried that this bag will be bad for my shoulders. Should i just alternate which shoulder i use it on throughout the day?

The best bag for carrying a lot of books, etc is one which spreads the weight evenly over both shoulders and sits comfortably on your back without any bit to dig into you.

The type that go over one shoulder only (often called a courier bag) are not good for school. They are designed, as their name suggests, for couriers who need to get at the contents quickly whilst on the move.

I think it's okay, but a little plain. Also, don't worry about it being big enough or not; at my school, almost every girl carries a bag to school instead of a backpack. Freshmen don't actually have a lot of stuff to carry, since all you need is a binder and some pencils. You can keep your books, notebooks, and extra school stuff in your locker or at home. I got a very cute one at Icings! It was around 30 or 40 dollars. It fits all of my school supplies including my big binder and all of my notebooks. It has alot of front pockets and an adjustable strap. Its dark brown. I got it back in August so they probally dont have that same exact one anymore but look on thier website or in the store. (:

Any Unique School Shoulder Bags And Under £30?

Well... Everyone at my school is into the "fashion" of wearing handbags. Its bizarre! I hate it! They are all too small to fit your P.E kit in and are really quite expensive! I want a bag that is unique! Nothing off Cafe Press Or Truffle Shuffle As They Are Expensive. Im In Year 8.

What about those cute large canvas (or sometimes that plastic-ee kind of material) tote bags that they have like at book stores or for your shopping? You can fit hella crap in those things! And they have so many cute designs and stuff. Then you can have a cute little zippered purse thing to put inside that bag for all your little things like lip gloss, pens, hair ties, school ID and all that kind of stuff.
You will be able to find something cool, I'm sure - even though they have lots of cute bags on Truffle Shuffle - but my Lord - you don't have to be "that trendy" barf!
I think this is a good idea and this bag won't cost nearly be as much as those other dumb trendy bags.

How can students being aloud to carry school bags around school help them stay more organized?

I have an essay due about why we should get the school rules changed about school bags and i came up with that reasong but i need examples to help support it.

If they 'allow' this it will:

1: Save time - as students will not be constantly going to get books from a locker.

2: It will allow students to organise their bags in the morning so that all that they need is in the bag.

3: They can leave some items in their locker and carry some so their bags are not too heavy.

4: If children are taught how to carry bags/backpacks correctly on their backs then certain problems will be alleviated.

How to carry your bag correctly:
Dr. Skaggs suggests the following to alleviate back pain caused by carrying too heavy a load in a backpack:

* ALWAYS USE BOTH SHOULDER STRAPS: "It's important for children to use both shoulder straps instead of simply slinging the backpack over one shoulder," Dr. Skaggs says. "Using one strap can cause children to walk improperly and places all the load on one shoulder."

* PACK CORRECTLY: Dr. Skaggs recommends that heavier books and items be packed closest to the back so that the center of gravity is near the center of the pelvis. Secondly, he reminds children to not pack so that there are sharp comers. "A load on the shoulders will naturally cause you to lean forward," he said. "That's why it's important to distribute the weight evenly."

* SELECT THE BACKPACK THAT'S RIGHT FOR YOU: "The standard two-strap backpack is good for light loads. For heavier loads, a backpack with a hip belt takes the load off of the shoulders and distributes it to the pelvis and hips," Dr. Skaggs said. Dr. Skaggs also recommends selecting a backpack that has a well padded area that touches the back and shoulders so sharp corners will not cause discomfort by sticking into the back.

How to hug my boyfriend with a bag in my side?

We have quick, friendly hugs bcuz I'm always either carrying something or I have a bulky school bag on my shoulder. How can I give him a loving hug?

You can try to angle the bag backwards and to the side, so it's further towards your back, or if it's a cross body bag, you can just move it so the bag is on the back of your hip, almost on your bum. If it's just a shoulder tote, you can always just put your bag down or against your leg and go for a hug. Any hug is loving, but the full on front bear hugs are the most enjoyable, so if that means putting down your books, you should do it. Good luck!

I might have scoliosis because I wear bags on my right shoulder?

If I started wearing my school bags or purses on my left shoulder for a long period of time, would it straighten my spine out?

It's just a slight curve, I'm getting checked for scoliosis next week.

Take my advice and start having your bags on both shoulders. I use to only carry my heavy school bag with just my right shoulder and that's probably how I got my Scoliosis. Sure, weating it on the left seems like a smart idea. But it's safer if you wear it on both.

I just got one today! I have been debating about it for a while now, cause they looked ugly on the shelves. But I did it and once you put things in it, it looks great! The shoulder strap is a great length. I got Navy Blue and Im a senior in high school

you could have a satchel from the cambridge satchel company but they are something like £94 for a brown one which is quite expensive. There is also Cath Kidston bags which are a cheaper alternative and have nice patterns on them. You just need to go onto the Cath Kidston website and click bags and then cross-body bags but they are quite expensive as well, with the cheapest being £30. I didn't see anything over £65 though so maybe that would be better for you. Hope this helped :)
