A kid at my school brings bags of smarties to school that only have sour in them. He won't tell anyone where he gets them, but he lives near me, so they are somewhere near. Where could I get bags of ONLY sour kind, or tropical? I've tried 99c store, and Walmart.

Answer
This is a link that is a lot cheaper than retail..

What are some good fundraising ideas for a small group of kids?

Lora

We are a church youth group planning on going to Oaxaca, Mexico to work on building a school. Its VERY important to us. We need to raise approx. 1000 per kid. If you have and ideas on fundraising events, or and businesses that may be willing to sponsor us. Please, let me know.

Answer
My son's French club raised $1,066 per student for a trip to Quebec City by selling 6-inch hoagies (subs) for $3.50 each. The sales were phenomenal. Nearly everyone asked was happy to purchase a sandwich. At $3.50, this was something affordable to all. On the day the sandwiches were to be distributed, the students gathered in the school cafeteria to make them assembly-line style, which took only 2-3 hours. This is one of the most successful fundraisers we have ever participated in.

Another popular fundraiser is a cookbook sale. Perhaps the women of your church could help in soliciting and gathering recipes, with an equal amount from total sales being deposited in each child's account. This would also work well for church bake sales, quilt raffles, rummage sales, spaghetti dinners, etc.

The members of a local church are often seen in front of our Walmart selling bags of various flavored Tootsie Rolls for $2 each. They do this each year, to fund trips to South America.

Another successful fundraiser in our area has been the ever-popular candy bar sales through a local candy maker. Ask at your school for the names of the candy salesmen they use. We also have a pizza shop that participates in $5 cheese pizza sales, as well as a convenience store that offers coupons for a sandwich, chips and drink for $5. As with the hoagie sales, these are enormously popular. Check with the pizza shops and convenience stores in your area to see if they offer similar fundraising opportunities.

Last but not least, a local public school teacher found her calling in Uganda, where she eventually settled to set up an orphanage. Through the generous donations of the students who deposited the change from their lunch money into a jar each day, an orphanage, clinic, and school were built and furnished in just over three years. Where there's a will...

It is my hope that you are able to utilize some of these ideas. Good luck to you and your group.

Q. I guess what I'm trying to say is even though youâll miss opportunities and make mistakes, thatâs what the whole meaning of High School is. And even though weâre wearing these goofy mortarboards today. I encourage you, seniors, that from time to time youâll let your minds be bold, and wear sombreros! Need an ending line here.

I'm not looking for anyone to edit my conclusion. I just need an ending that is humorous and a good way to end.

We may be screaming like little kids
In Walmart wanting a bag of chips
in a while
But that's just our emotions being released
As we realise we are adults
But in our parents eyes
The children they just had
that grew up
And now pays for not their own chips
But mistakes

Answer
Cosmetics can contribute to acne, break-outs, clogged pores, blackheads, etc. but as long as you are using products that don't clog pores and you're replacing old make-up, keeping everything clean, sanitizing brushes and applicators and using blot paper vs. repeatedly applying more makeup throughout the day-- you'll be fine. PLUS, make-up will protect your skin from the elements and keep it smooth.

You probably already know this, but using cosmetics for longer than a couple/few months can/will cause acne and/or infection. Cleaning brushes and applicators on a regular basis is really key. Sterilizing is important. (placing applicators and/or brushes on the top rack of the dishwasher will sanitize them).

Eye make-up (mascaras, eye liners, shadows, etc.) really have to be tossed and replaced every couple of months. The chance of getting a bacterial infection in the eye is great with eye make-up.

It's fairly important that you find concealer, tinted oil-free (water-based) moisturizer, blot powder, etc. that has the words:
Non Comedigenic --which means that it won't clog pores. If you're using a BB-cream, make sure it says 'Non Comedigenic'.

Look for blotting paper:

Every cosmetic company makes them and it' a great way to blot-off the excess oil throughout the day without continuously applying powder or more make-up. A secret tip is to grab a few of these from a public restroom (no, I'm not kidding)

and cut them into blot paper-sized pieces. Keep them in your wallet or bag. The material used for toilet seat covers is almost identical to blot papers and it works really well for blotting excess oil (for FREE).

Using loose powder, Bare Minerals-type make-up (several companies manufacture that type of make-up, like Revlon, Maybelline, Rimmel, L'Oreal, MaxFactor.. and available at any mart store like Target, Walmart, any drug store or beauty supply), is better for the skin than thick, creamy foundation because it won't clog pores.

It's applied with a brush and it's very sheer but covers imperfections well.

Sometimes I wash my face in the middle of the day because I have oily skin and it's so easy to just fluff-on a little Bare Minerals and go after quickly washing my face. I carry these:

Tote-able individual-sized face wash sheets to freshen-up. They're great.

But I use blot papers, too. Your skin will be fine. Washing it with a Cataphyll-type of face wash is best for skin because it's PH balanced and isn't too harsh.
