Girls, In high school do you carry backpacks or large bags?

Q. Im going into high school and i was wondering do u still bookbags or oversized tote type things

Answer
We have lockers at my school so I carry my purse with me at all times and I usually stop by my locker between classes and take out the books I need for the next 1 or 2 classes and just carry them. I usually have many books and binders to take home at the end of the day, so I carry my books to and from school in a backpack and then leave the backpack in my locker during school. This way, my backpack's there when I need it and I don't have to lug it around when I don't. My purse is always with me and it contains my little necessities.

Where can I find a large bag for school?

Treble Cle

I carry a lot of stuff with my at school, and so far every bag I have used is too small. I leave some of my stuff in my locker during the day, so it won't be too heavy, but find that every small thing I have gets lost in my bag because I can't organize it. I've looked in every bag store in town, and can't find one that's big enough without going to a suitcase...which is a little too big.
Does anyone know where I could find a bag that could fit two binders and has quite a few pockets? Even if it's online or something. I'd really appreciate it.

Answer
You can buy a large school bag from http://www.amazon.com/gp/search?ie=UTF8&keywords=large%20school%20bag&tag=new-deals-20&index=blended&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325

HELP I WANT TO MISS SCHOOL!!?

Q. i only have 2 days left of school which we get out on the 8th of june and i really want to miss really bad 2morrow just for the fun of it either way i mean thiers no more work to do schools is over... so any 100% tips that will let me miss school like 100% or if possible 200% cuz i really reall dont want to go thanks and please dont judge me im passing grade to 9th.. so yeah i dont lose anything o yeah my friends also want to miss like 4 of them to play on xbox live haha thank you very much form the bottom of your heart tell me a wayi could get really sick or sick enough to still be able to play lol

Answer
lol wow. i think i know the feeling. theres no sure fire way to miss school. you could play sick but your parent might choose to stay home or call you through out the day to check on you. you could miss the bus but the school will most likely call your parent by way of your house phone and or there work phones. you could go to home room, get marked as here, and then simply walk off your school campus when home room is out but that is very risky and if you are caught that will be very hard to make up a believable lie. i would not recommend you to skip school because it can be very addictive... no joke. i started skipping in high school and got in a lot of trouble. it can be a hard Habit to brake. but if you must know... and i am telling you this because it is your last 2 days of school and i will admit the rush is feels good and it can be fun and i think that every one should experience it at least once in their lives... i think you should miss the bus. that way if you folk get a phone call that can be your excuse. it will be a bad excuse but a lot parents will think any excuse for missing school is bad. because it is you last 2 days of school maybe your folks won't care AS much. it all depends on you parents. think of some where to go. mind you, you will be left to do what ever all day. stay away from cop and places infested with cop...like the mall. if you can ditch the book bags. don't do anything to cause attention to yourselves. if your going to some ones house... no drugs, no alcohol, no sex, or anything else illegal for children your age because not only is it bad for you but they can cause you to do stupid things and you are all ready committing a crime by skipping. and lastly getting caught can cause you to go to Juvy and or your parents to go to jail...GET IT OUT OF YOUR SYSTEM AND LET THIS BE THE FIRST AND LAST TIME!!!!

Why cant kids wear backpacks in middle school?

Michelle

i cant wear backpacks to school. wud up with that.

Answer
At my middle school and highschool they won't allow backpacks or bags in class because they suspect that you're carrying a weapon or illegal things. Back when I was in 8th grade (3 years ago) some kid brought a rifle to school and put us in lock down. And he was expelled. That same day, we had a bomb threat that I nearly got expelled for. I was so in shock I couldn't cry or anything. It was insane.

Answer
You might want to keep your eye out for a messenger bag at KMart, JC Pennys, Sears, WalMart, Ross, Burlington Coat Factory, Sports Authority or whereever you typiclaly shop throughout the year in case something comes up.

That being said, LL Bean has reeeeeally good bags. They are a little pricy but they will last forever, and if they don't they will replace it for free.

Here's a list of all of thier bags - http://www.llbean.com/llb/search/2/0/Relevance/1?freeText=messenger+bag

What are some girls bag essentials high school?

Nerual

I'm going into the high school this year and I was wondering what some of you girls well I guess possibly guys too... Idk.. think I will need for the school year aside from like notebooks binders etc...

Answer
These are the things I would consider essentials for me. Of course you will need to adjust it depending on what you don't need or don't have.

(seems like a lot, but not everything stays in my backpack all the time.)

general items:
- phone
- keys
- small wallet with a small amount of cash and ID
- ipod with earphones
- planner/agenda
- small umbrella
- lunch bag if i decide to bring lunch
- gum or mints
- water bottle
- small snack

pencil pouch with the following items:
- #2 pencil and mechanical pencil
- black, blue, and red pens
- highlighter(s)
- colored pens
- big eraser and sharpener
- calculator

extra things for organization and studying:
- post-it notes
- flags/tabs
- index cards
- a binder 3-hole punch
- mini stapler
- flash drive/USB

actual school supplies:
- homework folder (8-pocket)
- either binder or notebook and folder for all my classes (keep some in my locker)

personal care/beauty products:
- hand sanatizer
- roll-on perfume
- deodorant (keep in gym locker)
- hand lotion
- hair brush
- hair ties
- lip balm
- band-aids

keep a little bag with the following:
- pads or tampons
- pain medication for cramps
- anything else you may need for that time

also you may want to bring a few makeup products to touch up. I personally don't wear any makeup, but if you do, do not bring a huge amount. Maybe a few things like concealer and powder, but not foundation or anything like that. try to only bring makeup that isn't to expensive or is almost used up, just in case it gets stolen or breaks. You never know.

My boyfriend said he needs time alone?

Q. He said: I hope you will understand but I just need some time alone.
We were texting about his parents.
His parents dont allow me to talk to him and Ive never met them tho Ive seen them once.
What happened was in the beginning of June, I was caught with alcoholic empty beverages in my bag. I live in a islamic country (Qatar) and they were nice enough to not deport me out of the country or kick me out of the school.
His parents were afraid that they were gonna lose their jobs and be deported since my bf brought the alcohol to school and gave it to me.
I know its bad so dont waste your time saying that I shouldnt be doing these things at this age or that im unmature.
I know I am..
Point is, he went to Europe for a vacation and sent me a text before he left from his fathers phone. His dad's phone stopped working but managed to fix it from the settings. When they came back from Europe, the phone wasnt working adnd his father thinks that my mother blocked his phone and/or made a complaint.

And they dont have internet but they fixed it and he was on the internet (i didnt know) and his stepmom woke up and thought that he was talking to me about ways to put his father in jail..
Thats fckin nonsense.
We barley communicate anyways since its Summer.
Its all really confusing, weve been together since the beginning of March. I know one thing for sure that hes not breaking up with me because he aways promises that he would never break up with me. And when he came back from Europe, he was in a bad mood and was upset because his parents are not your average "good" parents.

All I can say is help?

are tote bags too heavy for school cause i have to carry lots of things with me ?

ms-adidas

and i have to go on lots of stairs to get to my locker ?? is a tote bag good or not for me ?
im just carrying it to my locker !

Answer
hey i used to have the same question b/c my backpack was always so full of books it would hurt my back. then i tried a tote bag b/c 1) they were so many cute styles 2) it lightened the load on my back 3) almost all girls had them so it was like a fashion statement. so i woiuld say totally. they are so helpful. plus if ur the first person to use it, u will start a trend i promise. go for it and totally rock your school and make all the other kids jealous. smiles.

Where did this originate? Where parents carry the kids backpack?

TS

I was with my sister picking her kids up from school (elementary) and all the OTHER parents were carrying their kids backpack. I mean A LOT of them. When did kids stop carrying their own backpacks? Is this something new? Do you think its right?

Answer
Because parents want to further pussify their kids.
The schools (in their infinite wisdom) are admittedly loading down even the tiniest of kids with heavy books, but that's still no reason for parents to carry their backpacks 50 feet to their MomMobile. Kids don't even walk any more! They get driven even if home's less than a few blocks, and now they can't even carry their own books to the minivan.
Pathetic. Not the kids, mind, they have no choice. What's pathetic is the parents who create this kind of dependence.

Parents these days won't let kids do anything for themselves because the more a kid does for themselves, the more independent they become, and the more independent they are, the less *control* a parent has on them, and total control over everything (until at least age 18, but usually it's closer to 30 now) is the current aim. It's just a sign of the times that parents can't even allow their kids the independence to carry their own bag.

I don't see it as spoiling at all. I don't think most of the kids want this kind of babying; it's the parents forcing it on them. I know that my kids at least would object if I took something as trivial as being responsible for their own things out of their hands.

my image on a bag?possible?

Cecilia

i have a plain bag for school.I don't want to write or anything but i want to make it less common.I'm wondering is there any way to put a picture on it? i mean like having a photo i really like....is there any way to 'type' it on my bag?
http://www.hypebeast.com/image/2008/10/eastpak-check-backpack-4.jpg

my bag is like this one

Answer
If the bag is made out of a fabric then look into iron-on paper made for most inkjet printers. You could also have the bag embroidered at a local embroidery shop.. Choose a clear image with high contrast to take to them, realize that the more colors used in the embroidery process the more expensive the job. Most will stick with one color and go with a black/white cartoonish look.

If the bag is a vinyl or other plastic material you can have your image printed out on a color (or black and white) laser printer. Coat the bag with Gesso (painted on, they sell it at craft stores) press the image print side down on the bag and make sure it's flat and the whole image is touching the bag/gesso. This flips the image, so make sure you flip your image before printing it! Once that dries use water and peel off the paper, the image will remain.

Answer
A tote works, you can get them anywhere, really!
Ross, Target, Forever 21, Love Culture, Sears, JC Penney, have affordable bags that are school sized that will fit books.
It depends what you like. I would prefer a cute messanger bag. It depends if you like hand bags or shoulder bags. Big hand bags work, they fit school books and school items.
Here's some images! ( : So maybe you can get an idea.

Fashionable but practical school bags for teenage girls?

Amelia

Can people give me ideas or post links? I am looking for a nice bag for school (maybe a Cath Kidston book bag), probably a shoulder bag although a backpack would b more convenient. Needs to be big enough to fit lots of books and stuff and have a zip so that when it rains my stuff doesn't get wet!
I forgot to mention that preferably it should cost under £40 and be one that my parents will let me use.

High School Tennis Team?

Molli Rae

I'm a Freshman in high school and going out for our school's tennis team. I have taken lessons, but it was almost 3 years ago. During the summer, my sister and I would just mess around with our rackets, and I am REALLY bad.
Due to an inconvenience, we lost our head tennis coach, so the whole thing has been really unorganized lately. Last week they had pre-season practices, but I wasn't able to go because it was at an indoor court located twenty minutes away, and being only 15, I couldn't drive myself or get a ride. Today was the first REAL practice, and of course, I couldn't practice because I don't have my sports physical done. Luckily, I have one tomorrow morning, which means I can practice tomorrow!
The coaches did say there's a chance of cutting people and I don't know when exactly tryouts are or if we're having them.
With that said, I am scared out of my mind. I'm not a good player, had to miss first week of preseason practice, and the first day of real practice. I really want to make the team and play, but I don't know if I even have a chance...

Do you guys have any tips??

(PS: I was signed up for private lessons this last summer, and with my luck, the instructor lost my form and I never got to get help.)
I actually did try to contact the instructor back multiple times. My dad had called the Rec multiple times before we finally got a hold of him, and at that point, he said he was done giving lessons.

Answer
Don't give up the ship too soon. Say, "I have not yet begun to fight" [John Paul Jones].

The skill level at most high schools is NOT the toughest in the country, so stick it out unless you absolutely KNOW you're getting cut and every player you go up against beats you love and love. If that is indeed the case [I doubt it] you might bag out after 2 or 3 days of it.

Hmmmm, tips. OK, lets assume that you have to play some sort of match with other kids in order to either make a cut of construct a team ladder.

Sportsmanship might not be #1, but it's way ahead of whatever is in 2nd place :-)

Therefore, get yourself a rule book from USTA. My favorite is "Friend at Court" because it has an index in the back where you can look things up. It also has *everything* in it, unlike "Rules of Tennis" which only has the rules and The Code.

The "Rules of Tennis" book is a few bucks cheaper, so that's a plus in its favor. The Code is very important for you to know, because it tells you how to conduct yourself in a match that has no officials [99.9% of matches I've seen in person, lol]. So read The Code over and over if you haven't already. available at:
http://www.ustashop.com/ <-- click on "Books" in the lefthand margin
It should get to you in a week or less :-) USTA is very good about shipping these books.

OK, your instructor has stopped teaching or something. Sounds like it's time to "re-load." There are tons of tennis instructors in the world, so if you are looking for a teacher, here are links to three tennis-teaching organizations:
http://www.uspta.com/

If you live in the USA, you should be able to find an instructor near you in one or more of the web sites above.

Matches with other kids:
You should NOT attack every ball that comes to you. Some balls require you to defend [lobs, slices, get out the kitchen sink and shovel it over somehow. Other balls you just keep it in play without fully attacking the ball, duking it out until a short ball comes along. And finally, if you get an easy "sitter" then go for it with a full swing and win it or lose it! You can also counterattack if the ball isn't too far away from you.

Get your first serve in, even if you have to use an underhand or sidearm serve [perfectly legal, by the way]. Double-faults are not acceptable :-) so avoid them if you possibly can.

Announce the score, and KNOW the score at all times. The score tells you whether you can go for broke or be conservative and just keep it in play. Some points are far more important than others.

Keep your mouth SHUT unless you have to talk. This will keep you out of trouble :-) Not always easy to do, unfortunately.

Be creative: Drop shots, lobs, dinks, moon balls etc are great fun to hit, and people often have trouble with them!

Learn to play the net, practice your punch-volleys and overheads every day. Approach shots are also very important, of course.

Take deep breaths in between points, look down at your shoes or your racket strings. Note how the pro's have a little ritual in between points where they move back and regroup each time. Very smart.

Do NOT think about the result. That will mess you up, because you really don't have direct control over it.

Think about giving it your best effort, sportsmanship, and other concepts, like strategy and tactics within that strategy.

If you get cut, then take lessons from a good teacher and practice at his/her club several days a week. The club's program may be a better one than the school's anyway :-)

best of luck :-)

I was beaten up again at school today.?

Eh

It doesn't matter where I am. They often give me anti-semetic notes in class, or shout abuse at me. They once took my glass off my face and crushed them with their feet.

I have had a knife put to my throat. Dog pilled on. Kicked in the shins. Punched in my eye, back of my head, stomach. I have no buttons on my blazer left and holes in my school bag. Been spat on.

My parents can't help, they are still tyring to afford the cost of leaving Poland. They send me $120 a month for food etc. I can barely afford to buy myself new stationary after mine is either stolen or broken, I just don't know what to do. I feel have let my parents down. I can't afford any of these defense classes either.

When I showed my teacher a note he laughted. I am 16 and just want to study. I am not even safe in the library. I live with my gran as my parents live abroad. I cry as I write this, I have nobody to turn to. Can anyone help me please? I can't live much longer like this, I just want to die away.
My parents have been trying to get together enough money for about 16-17 months.

I had to really learn English from scratch as well.

Please, please can someone help? I have not even one friend here.

Answer
If you are living in the USA, these sort of assaults and bullying are considered a crime. If your teacher refuses to do anything, then speak to the school administration or principal. Tell them that you will call the police, or file a police report against the kids, and teacher if need be.

If this is happening in Poland, that's a different matter. Racism as well as extremism (by immigrants) is a bigger issue there.

And if this is happening in some African country, then you really have to question why your parents would move to such a "dangerous" country. Exposing themselves or their child to danger for the sake of financial greed is not right. If they'd be decent concerned parents then:

(1) they would listen to their child crying out for help
(2) the father would have put his family's safety first and gone to Africa by himself to earn his fortune (if he's the breadwinner).
(3) or they'd bring you back to Poland. It is better to live with less material junk in Poland, than to expose a child to such danger. The "better life" isn't really better if you are constantly endangered by thugs and idiots.

There are many African countries that are not safe for a white, or Jewish person. Any parent that doesn't see this is an idiot.

Main idea of each age in "The 7 ages of man"?

Love the l

Shakespeare's "The Seven Ages of Man". I need a main idea for each of the seven ages.

Answer
One man in his lifetime plays many parts.Just as a drama is divided into many acts ,so is a man's life made up of seven ages.

At first,he plays the , he plays the role of an infant always crying and vomiting milk in the nurse's arms

Second stage: He plays the role of a complaining school boy,who carrying his school bag is not willing to go to school.

Third stage: He becomes the lover.he sighs like a furnace, and writes a song or poem expressing the pains of unfulfilled love and is written to celebrate the beauty of his mistress

Fourth stage: he is a soldier. He is stocked with violent and boastful oaths with a beard on his chin just like that of a leopard's ,very quick to defend his honor, quick and hasty in quarrel and ready to sacrifice his life at the mouth of the cannon to get fame which is empty and short lived as a bubble.

Fifth stage : There comes the magistrate, well fed with chicken, with his bulging belly with his severe eyes and well trimmed beard, full of good sayings and commonplace observations, and thus he plays his part on the stage of the world

The sixth stage changes one into a weak old man in slippers, with glasses on the nose and the purse on the side, now he uses his youthful stockings, which he had saved carefully, are now too big for his thin legs , and his mannish voice changes again into the high pitched voice of a child and utters everything in shrill ,hoarse whispers .

The last stage of life(7nth) which puts an end to the wonderful and eventful history of man. This is the second childhood , complete forgetfulness ,without teeth ,without eyes, without taste, without everything

hope i helped!

7 girls*2 legs=14 legs
7 cats *4 legs=28 legs

My high school sucks?

Chris Smit

It was built in 1960 and was designed to hold about half as many students as it currently does. Nothing seems to work quite right. The heaters only work during the summer and the air conditioning only works in the winter. The asbestos insulation has all burned out and the building becomes an oven or a meat locker, depending on the time of year. The plumbing is a disaster, with drinking fountains never working but toilets that never stop running.

The people include principals, counselor, teachers, and ex-Marine drill sergeants (gym teachers). They are destroying my life through tedious testing, poorly planned projects, educational videos made during the Truman Administration, and text books that mention the Soviet Union on every page.

I dont learn anythinh but try to find friends who aren't complete douche bags, try to hook up with people of the opposite sex unsuccessfully, combing my hair, buying cloths in the effort that someone will notice me, working out so I will not get my ass kicked everyday, trying desperately to get rid of the zits that have taken over my face, driving a car that a homeless person wouldn't piss in or riding on an over crowed bus while choking on diesel fumes, while people I don't know make fun of me worse then my friends do, and on top of all of that, I must act like nothing is wrong in my life.

This is the worst high school in the world thawt ever existed, what's a good high school like? Cause im transferring there ASAP
Oh and there is no recess. I think that's dumb

Answer
Thats nothing compared to my school.

The same people get chosen to do everything and go on all the school trips. You are forced to do things. The school is filled with rats!, our school is one of the oldest in England and was actchually founded in 1206! and most of the building is THE SAME AS IT WAS THEN. We HAVE to learn Ancient Greek. Eugh! Seriously. The majority of people there are snobs and are all ridiculously clever & everything.I know how you feel!.
You wont have to stay there forever though!

What are some popular, basic 1960's foods?

Gus

I just need some suggestions of simple snack-like foods for a 1960's project I'm doing for school.

Answer
Crisps with a little bag of salt in.

Sandwiches wrapped in cellophane - cheese, ham, egg and cress.

Fish and chips, wrapped in newspaper.

Sev, an Indian snack consisting of dried vegetables and other edible stuff like seeds, nuts and so on.

Fish fingers.

Marmite soldiers - strips of bread spread with Marmite and served with boiled egg - egg must be boiled soft so you can dip the soldiers in the yolk.

Footplateman's breakfast - take one steam train shovel, clean it, coat it with lard, then put egg, bacon and anything else like mushrooms on it and put into firebox. Result - piping hot breakfast.

Answer
If youre school has a pool, or you can use the P.E changing rooms, when he gets changed nick his clothes and put them in somebody elses locker, somebody else will get the blame, or when he is on the loo at school, where you can see the lock on the outside of the door, wedge it with gum, he will get stuck in,if he does a school club after school, get a friend of yours to tell him, such and such teacher wants him for a minute, when he goes there you and your friends stick post stick notes on the door to where his club is and write on it go to ______ room. when he gets to this room leave another one saying go to ______room, keep dong it on all the doors. When he keeps following them and gets back to the begining he will be so cheesed off. Wedge a water balloon behind his locker door, so when he opens it he gets a good suprise, find a door somewhere which only he will go through, open it slightly, balance a few trainers on top of it when he opens the door, shoes will fall on his head, hoped this helped, i am in year nine, oh and tip a packet of coco pops over his head, i did that to someone in year 7, as payback of course.

Yo, college students, and maybe high school kids too...?

Sexay as H

Do you feel annoyed by those rolling backpacks? Are they a complete hassle at your school or college too? Ever wonder why it's usually the chubby people at college who roll those dumb thingsa around? And they actually use the elevator to roll their bag, when wheelchair students are waiting to use it to get to class. Are these things an issue at your college too? Or high school, for the young ones using this site.
Yes, I am a fatty too, nut use a real back pack, not a rolling one. Rolling luggage is cool, but for trips not college. Just sayin...

Answer
I love the sound the wheels make. I know it may annoy you with all their other flaws but that sound is just so soothing to me.
These kids are just thinking of their back health. It would hurt them to carry it up the stairs! Do you know how much those little wheels weigh?! Neither do I but I'm sure its allot and that's why they have to take the elevator!

would 7-10 year old kids like a backpack or a duffle bag as a gift?

Shitij-www

I have to give a freebie gift to children aged 7-10 years. I've noticed they either carry a cartoon backpack (Barbie, Ben10, Batman, etc) or a branded backpack (Nike, Adidas, Puma) to school.
Would these kids appreciate a well design backpack or a well design duffle (gym) bag to use for travel and hobby classes.

best type of baby carrier or wrap?

Star L

Do you like baby front carriers, backpacks, wraps, mobi wraps or mei tai wraps?

Whats the easiest and most comfy wrap? or do you just carry your baby without one?

Answer
The worst I have tried is the babybjorn. HATE it. I don't think it is designed well for baby or for mom's back. I used it ONCE when my baby was less then 8 lbs & my back hurt within 15 mins. Not good. It was adjusted well, I knew it was as I had a good friend with me letting me borrow it. She had used it a lot. Plus it's pretty basic, not too hard to figure out. We readjusted & readjusted, I just hated it. My favorite overall is the Ergo, hands down. But each type has pros & cons & some are better for certain ages & depending on what you want from your carrier. If you want handsfree nursing with small babies then a stretchy wrap like Moby is the right answer. If you want to be able to wear baby for a wide array of ages & weights & for longer periods of time, then an Ergo is a better suggestion. It is more about what YOU want from a carrier then which carrier is best. Ergos are bulky - so they are hard to just tote along "in case". Ones that tote well are rind slings, peanut shell styles or continuous loop slings, but you need to be careful of those styles with very small babies & make sure they are positioned well. Mei tais' are more of a carrier then a wrap & are awesome if you want something that you can wear for a bit, is a bit more take along "just in case" as it's less bulky then an Ergo & they come in a ton of really gorgeous fabrics.

Like I said I do love my ergo - but the drawbacks are this...they aren't as pretty as many of the other types, they are definitely bulky, so it's not easy to just bring it along in case you might want to use it. i do keep mine in the car a lot, but even tucking it in the basket under the stroller fills the whole basket for me just about. They also are a bit pricey compared to some of the others. The pros are that it really does put the weight onto your hips, not your back. My 5 yr old can still fit in it & he is average size for age AND he is almost half my weight. I can carry him fine. My legs will burn, but my back doesn't feel a thing. You are NOT supposed to put a child that heavy in there, but it was at Disney & the little one was sleeping in the stroller & the big one was VERY tired...so you make due right? Anyway, it is rated to 45 lbs. It is also easy for me to put on my tiny petite frame (as in 100lbs) & in no time I can take it off, hand it to Dh & he can adjust it to fit his nearly 6 ft frame in just a minute. He had no trouble using it from day one. By that I mean he wasn't bothered by it because it wasn't girly AND he had no trouble getting it adjusted without instruction or confusion & my 1st son was worn by daddy a LOT. We have had ours nearly 5 yrs. We have used it & I have loaned twice to relatives. It has been laundered a LOT & it still looks basically new, despite being under almost constant use. My 1st child was in it EVERY day literally. It is how I got things done. He liked to be held, I needed to move. The only thing an Ergo won't do is allow a child to be in front forward facing. There is some controversy about having a baby set that way in a structured carrier anyway though, as many warn it could put pressure on the spine & hips to have them set on their crotch. I the ergo they set on their butt & their legs kind of wrap around you versus hang.

he funny thing I ONLY had an ergo with my 1st child & he loved it & so did I. baby #2 comes along & I thought a Moby would be nice for newborn stage - he hated it. So I got a slingling (continuous loop) and a friend let me borrow her babybjorn, then I got a Mei Tai (Baby Hawk) & Maya Wrap (ring sling), (I think this is when I needed rehab - but anyway), then I got one of the hip hold type (can't remember the name brand) and I got fed up! My child didn't love any of them & neither did I. When I first put him in the Ergo & he didn't really like it the way my 1st had - it never occurred to me that he might not like CARRIERS. Well that was it. He tolerated the Ergo better than any of the other ones I bought & we went back to that - plus that one felt good to my back & was easy to put on alone & take off. So I liked them all for different reasons (other than the bjorn) - but my baby hated them for some mysterious reason I cannot quantify. I have sold most of them or given them away & the only one I won't is my ergo. Until my ovaries shrivel & fall out, I will hold onto it "in case" because when it works, it works so well. My 2nd finally decided to like carriers when he was around 10 months old & at 26 months is now a pro in the ergo. When he wants in he calls it giddyup. :)

So what's high school really like?

Veem =

Ok so I know what secondary school is like in the UK/ Ireland. But it seems so different to high school in America.

I know your told not to believe everything you seem on TV, but well, I'm sort of gullible :S
So there's a question I've always wanted to ask. Do people really bring lunch to school in bags like this?

http://www.auburn.edu/projects/sustainability/newsletter/paper-lunch-bag.gif

Yeah, I know this question sounds kinda lame!
But is high school really the same as what we see in the movies?

Hope I didn't offend anyone!

Thanks in advance for the answers!

:D

Answer
Your question's not lame its hilarious!! :) I never thought that other countries didn't use paper lunch bags. lol Yes people do use those bags. In some ways I guess high school is like the movies, some schools have clicks, mine isn't bad with those. You have your sluts, preps, goths, nerds, and average people. I guess you also have some low lives who do drugs. Movies add a lot more drama then there really is. If you want to know anything more about american schools email me at xoxalyssa94xox@yahoo.com

Can anyone suggest any good places where I can buy a school bag in Ireland?

Babeey!

I can't find any bags that I would use for school. Normally I would use a big purse type of bag but I was told to come back to school in the new semester with a proper school bag. Any suggestions where I could buy some?
The price doesn't matter

Can not give you better advice, sorry!

Where can you get decent priced school bags that are stylish and large (ish) in the uk?

Paisley

I need a decent school bag for school next year, I am going into year 8. Nothing more than £30 though. I need it by the time school starts which is WEDNESDAY 5TH SEPTEMBER 2012 xoxo

Answer
Although some of it is stupidly expensive, and many of the bags will not be big enough, TK Max has some good ones. I got one for £27 that's nice and big, and looks pretty too :). You've just got to be prepared to dig around a little bit.
