How do I become a model?

Alissa

I am a 6'3'' girl in my sophomore year of high school and I have been told all through out middle school and high school that I should be a model. I really want to model for Brandy Melville or Hollister but I don't know how they would hire me. Help?

Answer
Well if you want to become a model for Hollister like be on their bags and stuff, you have to work at the store as a model first. Then you can get into the real modeling for Hollister. But you have to be 17 to work there. So in like another year just apply I'm sure you'll get it, and then send your pic into corp :)

High-School: Freshmen Year?

Merika

Next September, I'll be a Newbie Freshman. I seriously have no idea what items I need to be prepare next year...Help, Please??

Answer
I'm so happy that these questions are starting to appear- they're my favourtie kind to answer!!

1) Okay, first things first. Go into school with your OWN set of values and thoughts. I know this is ridiculously cliche, but be yourself! Do not change for anyone. Be your own person, and use your own strengths and fortes so succeed. There's no need to depend on others to make sure you do well. Also, people will like you better if you are your own person. No one likes a fake person who needs to follow. It's quite a nuisance, really.

2) Be prepared for change. I'm honestly not trying to scare you here, but your friends will change. Everyone goes into high school by promising that they'll never change, and by half way through their 4 years, they're completely different. This is not to say that everyone will dramatically change, but everyone will undergo their own transformations, and they may develop habits that you don't appreciate or enjoy.
You'll notice a change in yourself too, and don't try to fight it. But make sure that you're happy with the way you're going. Don't succumb to peer pressure.

3) Expect to lose friends. Again, this is as a result of change. Don't fight it, because it's usually for the best.

4) Expect to gain friends, and meet tons of new, wonderful people.

5) Join lots of teams and clubs. Teams and clubs give you a great opportunity to meet new people with the same interests as you. It is a good basis for conversation starters, and can even lead to you and some others meeting up outside of school.

6) Significant others aren't all that great. Don't force yourself to be unhappy and enter a relationship simply because you want one. It's not nice to mess with your own emotions like that, not to mention toying with someone else's as well.

7) Don't walk slowly in the halls, or randomly stop and take up space. This is quite honestly the most annoying thing anyone could ever do.

8) Focus on school. Your grades are really important, and don't you forget it! Make an effort, and don't blow it off. Pay attention in class, and ask questions if you're unsure. School isn't even that hard.

9) Don't focus only on school. This may seem like a contradiction to my earlier statement, but it's not. You should have a happy medium. Make sure you do well in school, while keeping a nice social life.

10) Don't do drugs. You'll be exposed, but contain yourself. Sure, trying it once or twice isn't a big deal (same thing with drinking), just don't make it a regular habit to the point where it takes over your life.

11) Be nice, sweet, and kind. That being said, don't let anyone walk over you. Stand up for yourself, because you're important and valuable.

12) Be open-minded. Don't judge others, as you wouldn't liked to be judged.

13) I'm not sure if you're a girl or guy, but here it goes. This is mainly for girls. Backpacks are much better than bags or purses. I know the former looks better, but they're a pain to carry. Sadly, I've only just realized this, after having to go through back pains with my current bag because of numerous textbooks.

Here's a couple of things you need for the year:
-pens (red, blue, black, and maybe 1 other colour)
-pencils (whatever type you're comfortable with)
-whiteout
-sticky notes
-notebooks and tons of paper
-binders
-scientific calculators (for specific model info, see your school)
-obviously a pencil case
-erasers
-I don't think you'll need pencil crayons, or glue, but double check based on classes once you receive your schedule.
-highlighters

To be honest, high school isn't even that bad. The work's not too hard (it's really not hard at all), and most people don't even care about what you do because they're so involved in their own thing and lives.

Don't be nervous for the first day, you'll be absolutely fine. Like I said, most people will be too caught up in their own lives and friends to pay you much attention.

Don't over do your outfit for the first day, you set up a false assumption of yourself. That being said, don't take it too easy and look like a bum, because first impressions are very important!

Carry around your schedule for the first few days, because high schools are usually big buildings.

All the best, and have a ton of fun :))

Take care :)
