You really shouldn't be trying to be something you're not, but I am assuming you're a young woman, & being 19, I know it is hard to find yourself & you go through many phases trying to do that. So heres some help!
What perfume to use: Probably Our Moment by One Direction, any of Justin Biebers or Taylor Swifts will do too, but Our Moment smells best.
How to type / chat online: Keep yourself educated. Being preppy kind of goes hand in hand with being popular, & being popular is being smart. So you can use things like "lol" "haha" "omg" but keep in mind spelling & grammar is everything. Smiley faces & emojis will go far!
How to walk: Like I said before, preppy = popular & popular people walk with confidence.
How to talk: Don't try to talk smack about other people. It isn't cool & it'll get you a bad reputation with your peers. Talk sweetly & kindly, with a little sass. Talk about music, fashion & celebrities. Gossip is OK as long as it isn't about people you know, & if it is, make sure you make a point to not hurt someones feelings. Again, not cool. If you genuinely don't like someone, let them know why you don't like them in a calm matter- unless they are violent, haha- maybe you two could hash things out & you can become their best friend. It is also OK to talk about boys (or girls if you are a lesbian) , but make sure you don't let any boys/girls take advantage of you or make a mess of your heart. Being preppy is about being confident, & the number one confidence killer is heartbreak. If you are gay, openly admit it. Its nothing to be ashamed of & your confidence will skyrocket because you're not hiding who you are. If people make fun of you- frick them. They don't deserve your attention anyways.
How to act: Again, confidence is key.
Attitude: Kind, yet sassy. Confident & smart.
Hair: Keep your natural color & wear it straight with cute headbands or bows.
Makeup: Natural. Eye brows neatly trimmed & fitting to your face, light brown eyeshadow, very little mascara (maybe curl your eyelashes if you prefer), a little blush, pink or tan lip gloss or light pink lip stain. Keep your skin healthy & clear. Use lots of moisturizer.
Nails: Neatly trimmed. Maybe a pale color; pink, blue, purple & yellow would do. Or white french tipped.
Organisation: Keep very organized. Everything should have a place. Keep your room clean & your backpack neat. Organizing totes will be your best friend. In your room, bright colors will be a must.
How to write: you can't really change how you write, but make sure you write legibly. Find something that sets you apart. I write my lower case e's with the tail sticking up, & so teachers & friends always knew who wrote what. Writing in colorful pens is nice, but make sure its OK with your teachers first.
How to act at school: Be nice & kind to everyone. Become everyone's friend, but make sure you have a close knit group of friends too. Make sure you're not mean to the kids everyone thinks are 'weird.' Its your chance to let them know they are important & special. A preppy popular girl will never miss that chance.
What to do In my spare time: Hang out at the mall with friends; go to Starbucks; hang out on tumblr; take pictures of you & your friends; make a youtube channel; volunteer.
