I was at the store yesterday and they were setting up the school supplies...how depressing :(

BQ: If you have kids in school, what grade will they be in this year?

Answer
I know, the poor kids who walk into Target and see backpacks, school supplies, etc. for sale already.

What to do/bring/wear to a volleyball preseason skills clinic in middle school?

Maria

It's my first time being on a volleyball team I don't know anyone there?

Answer
What to wear:
-a tshirt, I recommend a baggy one so it's more comfortable. And if you happen to sweat a lot like me, maybe a darker colored one haha, but it's up to your preference :)
-spandex shorts. You can get them at target, walmart, or any sporting goods store. If you can't get spandex on time for the clinic, just wear any running shorts you have.
-kneepads. Again, you can get these at sporting goods stores. Make sure they fit, because they do come in different sizes.
-socks and shoes. Make sure you wear somewhat thick socks so you don't get blisters, and trust me, playing with blistered feet hurts a lot. For shoes, DO NOT wear vans, converse, toms, etc. Make sure they are proper volleyball shoes. I recommend Asics, but they can be expensive, so running shoes you already have will have to do.

What to bring:
-a bag. It can be a drawstring bag, a backpack, whatever you prefer.
-WATER. Bring plenty of it, 2/3 bottles! You need to keep yourself hydrated, to the point of where your pee is clear! No kidding, that's what my coach told me haha.
-a small towel. To wipe off any sweat.
-deodorant. Trust me, you're gonna get stinky and gross after playing.

What to do:
-When playing, if the ball is coming to you yell "MINE!". Do NOT let the ball drop in front of you just because you didn't call it.
-Be cooperative and have a positive attitude. Volleyball is all about teamwork! And coaches don't like it when you have a negative attitude.
-make sure you stretch and warm up thoroughly. You don't want to be sore all over the next morning.
-if you need extra help with something, say your serves, ask the coach! don't be afraid to ask for help, your coach only wants to see you succeed, so they will gladly help if you just ask!
-Have fun! Volleyball is a super fun sport. Do your best, listen to the coaches, and make new friends!
